LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Nothing could keep family and friends of LaConia Shontel "Muggy" Brown away from paying their respects and honoring her memory with a memorial walk, named in her honor.

Held in the same week Muggy would have turned 25, the walk has quickly become a tradition.

Starting at the Brown family home, Muggy's loved ones said a prayer before departing.

The walk was about a mile long and just like Muggy, the walk was full of energy and excitement.

Kindra Brown, Muggy's sister, organized the walk along with

Brown says the walk is the way her sister would have wanted it.

As the way winded its way throughout the Southside of Jennings, others who knew Muggy joined in on the walk. Some even danced.

The celebration ended with a memorial lunch.

Muggy's family says they still want more information from authorities about how the investigation is going.

"I'm never going to give up on my sister," said Kindra.

In the meantime, the family says they remain hopeful that someone with any information about any of the eight mysterious deaths will come forward.
