BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Deputies arrested a 15-year-old ninth-grader at McKinley High School after administrators found a loaded handgun in the boy's pants pocket.
according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office news release School Board security contacted the School Drug Task Force Friday afternoon after at least three students alerted school officials.
Casey Rayborn Hicks, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, said in the release that the gun was .22-caliber.
Hicks said her office did not receive any indication the student made any threats. Deputies do not believe any other student was involved.
