NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Louisiana Supreme Court's chief justice, who suffered a stroke on Jan. 10, has been admitted to a rehabilitation hospital where "her condition improves daily."
According to a news release Tuesday from the court, Chief Justice Catherine "Kitty" Kimball was discharged on Friday from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was admitted to an unidentified rehabilitation hospital to begin post-stroke therapy.
Kimball became the court's first female chief justice in January 2009. The 64-year-old served as an associate justice from 1992 to 2008.
