SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) – Controversy continues to surround Sulphur High School's head football coach Paul Bourgeois.

According to the American Press Bourgeois said he was asked to resign after the football season in November by Keith Bonin, the school's principal. Bourgeois declined to step down from his position, planning to fight to remain head coach.

The Calcasieu Parish School Board will now decide whether or not Bourgeois will remain at Sulphur High School.

7Sports contacted Bourgeois and his attorney today about the report in the paper, but both declined to comment. The school board will make it's decision on Tuesday. We will continue to follow this developing story.
