UPDATE: Armed robbery suspect found at Westlake home

UPDATE: 31-year old Shannon Paul Oquinn of Westlake was arrested on Thursday afternoon in connection with an armed robbery incident at the Circle K in Sulphur on Wednesday morning.

Oquinn was charged with attempted armed robbery by Sulphur Police. He was located at his residence on Gray Street in Westlake. Officers recovered the gloves and clothing he was wearing during the robbery attempt.

The firearm used has not yet been recovered.


SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - Police in Sulphur are looking for an armed robbery suspect on Wednesday morning, and are asking for your help.

The incident happened at the Circle K located at 2060 Ruth Street in Sulphur around 4:30 a.m. Reportedly a white male wearing a gray sweatshirt and a blue bandana walked into the store and tried to rob the clerk using a gun.

During the incident, another customer walked in and interrupted the suspect causing him to put the gun away and run from the scene.

The suspect appeared to be between 5'8" and 5'10" in height. He also had bleach blonde hair.

There were no injuries reported in the robbery.
