Grant placed on injured reserve
LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - This won't help Saints fans relax after their team lost their last three games of the year.
Starting defensive end Charles Grant has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Grant suffered a triceps injury in New Orleans' week 17 loss against the Carolina Panthers. He started in all sixteen games this year for the Saints.
The former Georgia Bulldog has spent all eight years of his career with New Orleans. Grant had 53 tackles and 5.5 sacks this season. Now he'll miss the Saints' entire postseason run.
New Orleans has signed defensive end Paul Spicer to replace Grant on the roster.
The Saints will play their divisional round playoff game on Saturday, January 16th. Kickoff from the Louisiana Superdome is at 3:30pm. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
