LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The McNeese State men's basketball team was hoping to get their first ever victory over the LSU Tigers.

It didn't happen.

The Cowboys lost their non-conference finale in Baton Rouge by the final of 83-60.

McNeese State is now 0-19 all-time in men's basketball against LSU.

MSU kept it close during the first half.  The Pokes trailed 33-31 at halftime, but LSU pulled away later in the game.  The Tigers outscored McNeese State 50-29 in the second half.

C.J. Collins led the way for McNeese with 12 points.  P.J. Alawoya had a solid performance for the Cowboys.  He had 9 points and 7 rebounds.

LSU's Tasmin Mitchell had a game-high 19 points along with 11 rebounds.  Bo Spencer had 18 points and 4 assists.

McNeese is now 5-9 overall on the season.  They'll open up Southland Conference play on Saturday, January 9th at home against UT-San Antonio.
