LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - All of the 475 city's non-civil service employees will have to wait to get a pay increase. At a special Lake Charles City Council rescinded an earlier vote to give a 2% raise across the board. The reason: About a third of those employees are unionized and say negotiations are still underway for their contract. City and union leaders plan to resume negotiations January 17th.
