LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) – Bobby Walker is this weeks 7Sports Person of the Week.
Walker has been teaching the game of tennis for 28 years. This April will mark his second year as the Lake Charles Racquet Club's Director of Tennis, and he has made a name for himself across the south.
His dedication to helping others excel at the game, is the reason he has been named the USTA Southern Tennis Association's Professional of the Year. Walker credits a large part of winning this award to the unique spirit of volunteerism at the Lake Charles Racquet Club.
Walker stated, "What I do, I'm really in the quality of life business. While yes I'm teaching tennis and coaching tennis, and trying to help people become better tennis players, ultimately my main job is to make their experience better once they walk on the ground, whether they're hitting a tennis ball or whatever it may be, and to improve the quality of their life and that's very, very fulfilling."
