BATON ROUGE, LA (KPLC) –Running back Charles Scott, will not play in the CapitalOne Bowl. Scott still has not fully recovered from the broken collarbone he sustained when the LSU played Alabama.

Les Miles stated, "It appears to me Charles Scott cannot play in this game with good conscience and I understand it completely. If there was ever a guy that would give it great consideration and fought like heck to do it, it was Charles Scott. We certainly miss him. We missed him when we lost him at Alabama, we miss him everyday, and if he had just a couple more weeks I'm certain that he probably would play in this game."

Scott will continue to his rehabilitation to move on to the NFL. LSU will face Penn Sate in the CapitalOne Bowl January 1, 2010. Kick off is set for noon.
