NEW ORLEANS, LA (KPLC) – Playing from behind finally caught up with Saints, as their fourth quarter comeback fell short, 24-17. Even though their run to perfection is over, their hopes for home field advantage are still alive and well.
Behind Tony Romo and DeMarcus Ware, the Dallas Cowboys ended their December woes. Romo threw for 312 yards, one touchdown. While Ware forced a Drew Brees fourth quarter fumble to seal the win.
The Saints staged a fourth quarter comeback with Drew Brees at the helm. He led them to a pair of touchdowns in first seven minutes. The first coming on a Mike Bell touchdown, the second from a Brees pass to Lance Moore.
Brees totaled 298 yards, one interception, and his only touchdown pass was to Moore. The Saints couldn't establish a rushing game, with their leading rusher being Reggie Bush, who only had one carry for 29 yards. Bush also left the game with a pulled hamstring early in the second quarter.
The Saints will look to start a new winning streak next week at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
