Man indicted for murder because of strip club brawl

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A man arrested in April for injuring a Longville man outside of a strip club in Sulphur was indicted for second degree murder by a grand jury on Thursday.

David Nelson was originally arrested and charged with aggravated battery in early April of 2009. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's officials said that he was at the Plantation strip club in Sulphur in the early morning hours of a Saturday in late March. He reportedly sucker punched 19-year old Chad Heath outside of the club.

Heath hit his head and was knocked unconscious. He did die soon afterward from his injuries.

Nelson was reportedly working in southwest Louisiana when the incident happened. He was arrested in his hometown of Crestview, Florida. He was eventually brought to Louisiana to face charges.
