Final day to donate for KPLC'S Community Christmas

Today is the last day to donate food and toys for KPLC'S Community Christmas. If you have any non-perishable foods or toys appropriate for kids ages 1 - 12, you can donate them at any local Capital One Bank, Wal-Mart or Market Basket.

Gator 99 will be at the Nelson Road Wal-Mart all day today trying to get people to come out and help 500 needy families to have a better Christmas this year. This year, donations have been less than expected and not enough toys have been donated for the over 1700 children wanting Christmas gifts.

If you'd like to help out you can donate at any of those three business as long as they are open today.

A group of boys are taking their love for baseball off the field and into the backyard. And no, this isn't a scene out of the 1993 classic "The Sandlot." It’s happening right here in Lake Charles.

At the David household, there's something special going on in the backyard.

“One day in the backyard we came out here and decided to start playing around,” said Dylan David, who started a Wiffle ball league with his friends.
