Nobody hurt in incident at Port Arthur refinery

PORT ARTHUR, Texas (AP) - Some type of accident happened at the Motiva (moh-TEE'-vuh) Enterprises LLC refinery in Port Arthur but no injuries were reported.

A statement from Shell said what it described as an "incident" took place Tuesday morning at the hydrogen plant operated by Praxair. Specifics on what happened were not released.

The statement says all Motiva personnel have been accounted for. Praxair is conducting an assessment and the situation was described by the company as stable.

Further details were not released.

Motiva Enterprises LLC operates three refineries with a combined capacity of 740,000 barrels a day. The Port Arthur refinery, according to Motiva's Web site, has about 900 employees.

The company's operations include nearly 7,700 Shell-branded gasoline stations.
