ALLEN PARISH, LA (KPLC) - One man is dead and another behind bars following an early Sunday morning crash in Allen Parish just west of Elizabeth. According to State Police Troop D, 19-year-old Ethan Bailes from Pitkin was traveling east on Highway 112 around 5:30 a.m. when his pickup truck crossed the center line and struck another pickup truck head on.

73-year-old Frank Gordon from Oakdale was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene. Troopers say Gordon was not wearing a seatbelt.

Bailes was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He also failed a breathalyzer test and was booked into the Allen Parish Jail charged with: driving while intoxicated, vehicular homicide, driving left of center and speeding. The accident remains under investigation.
