Storm Water Master Plan project surveying to begin

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced that an engineering firm will begin surveying in the Choupique-Sulphur Basin as part of the Storm Water Master Plan project to hopefully address local flooding issues in Calcasieu Parish.

C.H. Fenstermaker & Associates, a regional engineering firm, in association with ECM Consultants was contracted to conduct field studies and analysis to find a solution to the flooding problems in the parish.

The models will be utilized as planning tools to help the parish analyze potential problems on drainage in the area because of development.

The project will involve field surveys in Sulphur and Carlyss. The Police Jury is asking residents to show cooperation to the field surveyors who are gathering field data for the study. The surveying is expected to last from December until April of next year.
