SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - Authorities are investigating a deadly accident involving a freight train and a pedestrian in Sulphur.

Police say a westbound train hit the victim, 29-year-old Jesse Wayne Foreman of Sulphur. His body was found between the Post Oak Road and Beglis Parkway railroad crossings.

Police say the conductor of the Union Pacific Railroad Track called 911 and reported the train had hit a man who was walking along the railroad track.

Sulphur Police Chief Chris Abrahams said detectives are investigating the events leading up to the Foreman's death.

The bar owner of Kaw-Liga's Indian Club confirmed to KPLC 7 News that Foreman was in the bar prior to the accident, however neither the owner nor the police could say whether or not Foreman had been drinking. Abraham said detectives will have a better idea when Foreman's toxicology report is in.

Sulphur Police say that this is the sixth fatality in the city this year.

Foreman leaves behind a wife and two small boys, ages 3 and 7.

The family of Jesse Foreman is also asking for donations to help pay for funeral expenses. Anyone who would like to help can call Hixson-Sulphur Funeral Home at 625-9171.
