Different guns used in two Jeff Davis shootings

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - According to preliminary results, it has been determined that two different guns were used in two shootings that happened last Thursday in Jeff Davis parish.

After testing, it was found that Kenneth Harmon, Jr. - the victim of a shooting on LA 1126 - was shot with a different type of gun than the gun that was used in a shooting on Peterson Street in Jennings.

Harmon was found dead under a wrecked truck in a ditch just south of Roanoke. He suffered a gunshot wound to his body.

The victim in the Peterson Street shooting was treated and released.

Further testing of the casing and the bullet will continue at the state police crime lab.
