Jeff Davis schools to offer H1N1 vaccine to students

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - According to Jeff Davis parish school board officials, the parish will begin administering the H1N1 vaccination to students at schools in the parish on the Monday after Thanksgiving.

The first vaccinations will be given on Monday, November 30 at James Ward Elementary in Jennings from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The following schools will administer the vaccination on the dates listed below:

November 30 - James Ward Elementary - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

December 1 - Jennings Elementary - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

December 2 - Hathaway - 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

December 2 - Elton Elementary - 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

December 3 - Lacassine - 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

December 3 - Fenton - 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

December 4 - Welsh Elementary - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

December 7 - Lake Arthur Elementary - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Officials want to remind parents that no child can be vaccinated without a completed consent form. Parents that wish to be with their child at the time of vaccination must schedule a free appointment with the local health unit.
