Still tied for first

SAN MARCOS, TX (KPLC)-   Josh Lewis sealed the Cowboys 30-27 victory over Texas State with a 28 yard field goal. The team is now 5-1 in Southland Conference play and are tied for first place with Stephen F. Austin, who defeated Southeastern Louisiana 41-10.

It was a record night for quarterback Derrick Fourroux and running back Toddrick Pendland, who both led the Cowboys offensive attack.

Fourroux's performance earned him a spot in the McNeese career record book in passing yardage, passes completed, rushing yards for a quarterback, touchdown rushing, and passing. Fourroux had 222 yards on the night and one touchdown pass.

Toddrick Pendland followed up a four touchdown performance last week with three touchdowns on the evening. Pendland now has a career total of 45 touchdowns and is tied in the record books with Buford Jordan. Pendland also rushed for a game high of 187 yards.

The Cowboys host central Arkansas in their last game of the season next Saturday.
