Saturday election results

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Residents of several parishes in southwest Louisiana went to the polls on Saturday to vote on new propositions and/or renewals.

In Calcasieu Parish, the District Attorney had a new proposition, the Sheriff's Office had one proposition up for renewal, and the Police Jury had two propositions - one is new, and the other is a renewal with an increase.

Residents of Allen and Cameron parishes also had different propositions on the ballot.

    Daniel Kight was found guilty of second degree murder today during his murder trial.  Kight pleaded not guilty due to reason of insanity after gruesomely murdering David Scasino. Prosecutors say Scasino was stabbed at least fifty times and his body was mutilated. After Kight visited a state appointed a psychologist, Judge Robert Wyatt had to base the decision on whether Kight knew right from wrong at the time of the offense.  Kight's sentencing is set at 1:30 p.m. on
