LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Jeff Davis sheriff's deputies have arrested a Lake Arthur man, after an armed robbery at a Lake Arthur convenience store.

Deputies say around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night, a male in a blue jumpsuit wearing a bandana over his face, walked into the Tiger Mart convenience store in Lake Arthur.  He pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money.  He then jumped over the counter and grabbed money out of the register and fled.

Later, deputies were led to an area and arrested 28 year old Anthony Caro.  After an interrogation, deputies recovered the stolen money, checks, a gun, along with the jumpsuit and bandana used in the robbery.

Sheriff Ricky Edwards says Caro is in the Jeff Davis parish jail on charges of armed robbery and battery on a police officer.  Caro also had an outstanding Contempt of Court warrant for not appearing in court on marijuana possession, theft and simple burglary charges.
