LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness says that recent heavy rain and the large volume of water being discharged from the Toledo Bend Dam will lead to flooding.
On Tuesday, November 3, officials say residents can expect to see moderate flooding along the Sabine River. It will be at least 2 ft. above flood stage.
Two days later, on Thursday, November 5, major flooding is expected as the river reaches 4 ft. above flood stage. Officials say the river could remain at this level for several days.
OEP officials say this flooding event will be similar to the one seen in 2001.
