LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The rain caused some street flooding problems across Lake Charles late Monday night. On Common St. the construction meant even more problems for some residents.
During the past two weeks, the extra rain has brought high waters, and that is something residents are concerned about.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Tony Mancuso is urging residents to stay off of the roadways during flooding situations, and limit leaving your home to emergencies or work travel.
Moving traffic on flooded roads can cause water to move into some homes. Extra patrols were out blocking area roadways that are seeing the highest waters.
Emergency personnel are on stand-by for evacuations if needed.
Contact 911 if you need assistance.
