LAKE ARTHUR, LA (KPLC) - A candlelight vigil in honor of the eight women, who have come to be known as the Jeff Davis Eight, was held tonight.

The vigil ceremony took place at the South Louisiana Christian Campground in Lake Arthur.

Close to a hundred people attended the event, which brought together family and friends of each of the Jeff Davis Eight women.

Media cameras were not allowed into the event. KPLC spoke with a family member of Crystal Benoit Zeno, the sixth identified victim.

Jade Benoit said her family, like all the seven other families, is holding out hope that their long-held questions will soon be answered.

Benoit says she thinks more exposure from the national media will help answers some of those questions.

Benoit Zeno's mother, Sarah, organized tonight's vigil.

Family members also unveiled a new T-shirt with all eight women's names.
