Savings in store for Entergy and Cleco customers

By Michael Addison -  email

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Entergy customers, expect to get a refund on your November or December bill. On average it'll be about $20.

The Public Service Commission approved the refund as part of an annual adjustment exercise.

The Commission also authorized an increase in charges to users for the next 3 years. About 10 cents more per 1,000 kilowatt hours.

Electricity customers with Cleco Power are also expecting to see their utility bills drop by the end of the year.  That's when the company's new power plant goes on line, which will offer a cheaper form of power to customers.

It's expected to be operational by year's end.
