Couple pleads guilty in child selling case

From The Associated Press:

VILLE PLATTE, La. (AP) - A couple from Eunice pleads guilty to giving an exotic bird to a woman in exchange for two children in her custody. The Evangeline Parish District Attorney's Office said Paul and Brandy Romero pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of sale of a minor child. Both received suspended five-year prison sentences. The two were accused of trading their cockatoo and $175 to Donna Greenwell of Glenmora, in exchange for the children in February. Greenwell pleaded not guilty to sale of minor children, a felony.
