Lafayette Police search for armed robber

LAFAYETTE, LA (KPLC) - The Lafayette Police Department is asking for help identifying an armed robber. It was around 1:20 a.m. on October 13th when Lafayette Police officers responded to an armed robbery at the Circle K located at the corner of St. Landry and University.

The suspect, who is described as being 5'7" with a thin build, entered the store wearing a dark colored hat, striped shirt and black pants.

Police say he approached the counter and pulled out a handgun, then demanded the money in the register and a pack of Kool cigarettes.

The clerk turned over money and the cigarettes and fled the store. The clerk was not hurt during the incident.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect is encouraged to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
