Tragic accident kills one in Cameron Parish

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed that one person died in a weather related accident on Friday afternoon.

Strong winds came through the area knocking the temporary office trailer for the ambulance service at South Cameron Hospital off of its blocks, causing a paramedic to become trapped between the building and a vehicle.

38-year old Thomas Widcamp was airlifted to a Lake Charles hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
