Three men arrested for home invasion

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) - Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested three men for a home invasion and robbery that occured right before midnight on October 7th.

Arrested were Rasheem R. Richard, 21, Westlake; Lawrence J. Bias, 20, DeQuincy and Darius M. Armstead, 19, DeQuincy.

Deputies say the invasion happened at a home on N. Claiborne Street in Sulphur.

Deputies say the victims were robbed a gunpoint by five men. Authorities say the men fled in different vehicles, including in a vehicle belonging to one of the victims. The victim's vehicle was recovered a short time later. Authorities say Richard was driving the victim's vehicle.

The investigation lead deputies to DeQuincy, where they say they recovered more stolen items at a house belonging to Bias. Detectives arrested Bias and Armstead.

Richard is charged with armed robbery with a firearm, automobile theft and theft over $500. Bias and Armstead have been charged with armed robbery with a firearm and theft over $500.

Detectives are still looking for more suspects.

    One local fraternity made sure some families in Southwest Louisiana had a fully cooked meal to enjoy for Christmas. "We have turkeys and hams, but it's enough food in the box to feed a family of eight," said  Mark Gallashaw, president of Kappa Alpha Psi's Lake Charles Alumni Chapter. Thirty-five boxes of cooked meals are getting ready to be delivered to families across Southwest Louisiana.

LCPD received a call of a person shooting a firearm from a vehicle on the 1900 block of Prejean Drive in the afternoon, said LCPD Deputy Chief Mark Kraus. Police located the vehicle near Hwy 14. A 19-minute pursuit then ensued, and ended with a suspect arrested.
