Woman found dead in car near Roanoke

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Harris County Sheriff's Deputies confirm the woman whose body was found in Jeff Davis Parish south of Roanoke was 33 year old Stefanie McKenzie of Humble Texas.

McKenzie had been reported missing since Wednesday.  Deputies in Texas say the mother of three young children had left a note saying she would harm herself.  Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Thomas Gilleland confirms the death appears to have been the result of an overdose of prescription pills.

Wednesday Jeff Davis Sheriff's deputies and an investigative team arrived on the scene and found the woman inside her vehicle.  Earlier today, Sheriff Ricky Edwards said foul play is not suspected.  He says the death does not appear to be connected to the cases of the eight women who have been found dead in Jeff Davis Parish.

The body was taken to the Calcasieu Coroner for autopsy.
