Swine Flu PSA's broadcast at high school football games

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals is partnering with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association to broadcast public service announcements at football games regarding the H1N1 virus, or swine flu.

Starting tonight and continuing through the end of football season, announcers at high school sports stadiums will broadcast information regarding H1N1, with tips about how to prevent the virus and what to do if you get it.

DHH and LHSAA's main goal is to get more information about H1N1 out to students. Students are considered at high-risk for H1N1.

"We hope these announcements will encourage students and their families to fight the flu by getting immunized and by using good hygiene habits," DHH Secretary Alan Levine said.

Not every high school sporting stadium announced the PSA this week but DHH hopes more sporting events will broadcast the PSA over the next several weeks.
