DeRidder, LA (KPLC) - 32-year-old Billie Joe Weldon has been indicted for second-degree murder, accused of killing 27-year-old Kimberly Ann Stephens of DeRidder.
Weldon, of Pitkin, originally faced charges of first-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping.
Stephens body was found near DeRidder on August 26. An autospy revealed she died as a result of blunt force trauma to the the head. Authorities say they believe Weldon acted alone.
Weldon was arrested just hours after Stephens' funeral.
His bond is now set at $10 million.
