State blocks ACORN funding in SWLA

From KPLC Staff:

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) New details in the governor's ban on state funding going to the controversial community group, ACORN.

Last week, Governor Jindal barred state agencies from entering into contracts with ACORN. On Tuesday, the govenor's office revealed that two contracts under consideration by the state Department of Social Services would have sent money to ACORN. One of those contracts would have hired ACORN as subcontractors to work with the United Way of Southwest Louisiana in a tax assistance program.
