Lake Charles, LA(KPLC) - "Logapalooza"-organized by the group Friends of Logan-will be held on September 26 th in order to raise money for Sheriff's Deputy Logan Armistead. The all day event will consist of music, food, and games, including a softball tournament, dinner and auction.
Logan Armistead is a 26 year-old Sulphur man who was involved in an altercation with two men on August 6, 2009. Logan has been in a coma ever since, recovering from multiple surgeries and battling infections.
Entries are available for the Saturday, September 26 Co-Ed Softball Tournament. The entry-fee is $200 per team. First pitch is at 8 am at the Westlake Fields, 1401 Grant St. Register ahead of time to play in the tournament. Food and drinks will be for sale. Tickets are available for the Saturday, September 26 benefit banquet for $20 if you purchase them ahead of time; tickets are $25 at the door. The event is from 6pm to 10pm at St. Theresa's Church, 645 Lori St. , Carlyss. Price includes a live & silent auction, dinner and acoustic music by Judd Bares, and Beau Guidry and Jacob Crenshaw of Ashes of Babylon. All events are alcohol-free.

Instructions for submissions are on the bottom portion of the flyer. Friends of Logan was created to help raise money for the Armistead family. Friends of Logan Member Dustin Granger says, "When something like this happens, it's easy to get lost and feel helpless. We're just glad that there's something we can do to help."
