LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - McNeese State University is reporting the largest increase in this year's fall enrollment among University of Louisiana System schools.
8,645 students are attending McNeese this fall, compared to 8,294 last fall. That's an increase of 351 students, a 4.2 percent increase.
Mcneese President Dr. Rober Hebert says the enrollment growth can be contributed to several factors. He says there was an increase in early admissions students this fall, which includes more than 400 high school students who are academically qualified to take freshman-level college courses. Plus, students from 33 high schools in a 6-parish area are now participating in dual enrollment classes for which college and high school credits are earned.
