LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A woman's body is found south of DeRidder on Granberry road, at around noon. Investigators from Beauregard parish, and the FBI are working to solve this mystery.

"We received a call from a motorist about a possible body in a vacant lot, south of town," said Beauregard Parish Sheriff, Ricky Moses.

At first, officials believed this case could be related to the Jeff Davis homicides, but according to Beauregard Parish Sheriff Ricky Moses, further investigation proved otherwise.

"We looked into it as a possibility, but it looks like it is not going to be connected to the Jeff Davis homicides," said Sheriff Moses.

Sheriff Moses said they have a tentative identification on the body found, but they will not have a positive Identification until they receive word from the Calcasieu Parish Coroner's office, where the body has been sent for an autopsy.
