Suspect in deputy attack released

From KPLC Staff:

A suspect in the brutal attack on an off-duty Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Deputy was released from jail Friday night. 22-year-old Jake Tullos is charged with attempted manslaughter in last week's attack on Deputy Logan Armistead outside a Lake Charles bar. Bond for Tullos was set at $500,000. Friday, Judge Wilford Carter ordered Tullos released after someone posted a $500,000 personal assurity bond. That means, no property or money was put up, but if Tullos fails to show up for court, whoever posted the bond will have to pay the entire amount. The other suspect in the case 22-year old Anthony Chaumont remains jailed in Sulphur. Deputy Logon Armistead remains hospitalized in Lafayette. At last report, he was still unresponsive in a coma.
