LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - In hockey, it would be a hat trick.
But you can just call it a dynasty.
The Louisiana Swashbucklers won their third-straight championship with a win over the Austin Turfcats in the Southern Indoor Football League championship game. The Bucs won it, 59-38.
Louisiana finished the season with a 12-1 overall record. Their lone loss was against these same Austin Turfcats back on May 9th.
Bryant Mason was the most valuable player of the game. He posted 4.5 sacks. The Swashbuckler defense had a huge night overall. They had five takeaways against the Austin offense.
This is not only the third consecutive championship for Louisiana, it's also the first title ever won in the Southern Indoor Football League.
