First cargo shipment for Cameron LNG

Reported by KPLC Staff:

According to Sempra Energy's Art Larson, Cameron's liquefied natural gas receipt terminal got it's first shipment June 21st. The cargo's arrival marks the beginning of a several week long start up process. Commercial operations at Cameron LNG are expected to begin in July.

Modern natural gas power plants use state-of-the-art technology and are flexible enough to meet electricity demands when alternatives like solar and wind power are not able to generate power.

The 945 foot long British Diamond was the first ship to berth at Cameron LNG. Its length can be compared to 3 football fields.
