LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - It was Friday, June 13th, 2008 when then 27-year-old LaKisha Taylor disappeared without a trace. Now, nearly a year later family members are still left wondering what happened to the mother of three.

Taylor's cousin, Ashley Alexander, says, "It's weird because she's not here and we don't know what happened to her."

Nicole Alexander, also Taylor's cousin, says, "When holidays and birthdays pass it's really hard for us."

LaKisha's family has always believed her disappearance was the result of foul play.  At first, the Lake Charles Police Department was apprehensive about saying a crime was committed, but now says there's "a very strong possiblilty of foul play".

Sergant Mark Kraus says, "We don't have any evidence or anything that says she has been harmed, but we do know that she has some small children that she has not contacted and did not contact those children when she left the residence.  Also, she had some material she's required to have on her such as her purse, her identification card, money, and things of that nature that were left behind as she became missing."

Police say they've been interviewing witnesses and suspects regarding Taylor's disappearance, however at this time they still don't have enough evidence to make an arrest.

Meanwhile LaKisha's family is begging anyone who knows what happened to come forward.

Nicole says, "We need to know what's going on.  We really do. It's about to be a year.  That's not right."
