LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Trinity Baptist Easter service was a beautiful service with joyful music and a sermon that touched the heart about what this day is really about.

It was a day of joy. Members of Trinity Baptist Church celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"For Christ's followers this is the day, his resurrection day.  It's where we put our hope, confidence, trust, and our insurance," said Pastor Steve James.

"Jesus died for us on the cross for us," said Abby.

"We celebrated Easter by singing songs and that Jesus loves us," said Amanda.

Songs of worship filled their hearts this Easter Sunday, especially Trinity Baptist Pastor Steve James.  He believes Easter opens the eyes of new and long-time believers.

"The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just a one Sunday out of the year experience. It's something we carry with us every day of our lives," said James.

For one little girl, this is a special Easter.

"I got baptized.  I wanted to ask Jesus into my heart and I did," said Avery.

While the Easter bunny and hunt for eggs are a fun part of the holiday, believers know what it's really about.

"I know that Jesus loves me and he died for me," said Amanda.

"It makes me feel happy that Jesus died for me," said Abby.

"For a born again believer, every day is Easter because every day we have the resurrected Jesus living in our hearts and our life," said James.
