LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Grab the kids, the Railroad festival is in town. DeQuincy hosts this annual event full of rides, games, and much more for family and friends to enjoy.

"We are having a great time. It is our first time to be at the Railroad festival and it is a great day to be here. It is wonderful," said Jason Liles.

Each year the community comes out to take part in this DeQuincy tradition.

"Me and my family come out here once a year to play and have fun. All the rides are here every year," said Hannah Joiner.

The Railroad festival is more than just rides and games. There is good food, as well. There are funnel cakes, crawfish, you can even get pork on a stick.

The DeQuincy Shrine club have a food stand set up to raise money, so that they can continue to help sick children.

"We are selling our famous Cajun chips. This is the only place you can buy them. We are doing this to raise money for our transportation fund, to help get sick children to the hospital.

So, if you visited the Railroad festival, or plan on visiting, you might not know it, but while you are having all that fun, you may be supporting a good cause.
