On Saturday, April 18, thousands of yellow rubber ducks will fill the Prien Lake Park waterway as the CMN Duck Race makes it way back to Lake Charles following a decade-long hiatus. Mark your calendars now and plan to join in the fun!
The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with a chicken gumbo cook off and tons of activities for the kids. The ducks will be released into the water at 1:00 p.m. The first eight ducks to cross the finish line will "waddle" away with fabulous prizes including $5,000 cash, $2,009 cash, hotel accommodations in San Antonio, a set of Cooper Tires, a "Makeover Mania" party at Club Tabby and much, much more!
Duck adoptions are $5 each and can be purchased by calling Duck Central at 491-7750 or by visiting www.duckrace.com/lakecharles. All proceeds benefit the Children's Miracle Network. Event sponsors include Cameron State Bank, Priola Construction, Southwest Louisiana Imaging, Bow Tie Marina, Graybar and CSE Credit Union.
