EUNICE, La. (AP) - Police say a Eunice man has been arrested in connection with an attempt to swap six fake $20 bills for a legitimate $100 bill.
Eighteen-year-old Michael Anthony Jacobs was booked Monday with monetary instrument abuse.
Capt. Brett Faulkner with the Eunice Police Department tells The Daily World that Jacobs allegedly tried to exchange the money at a local convenience store.
Faulkner said the clerk became suspicious and used a special pen used to spot fake bills. That test revealed the bills were counterfeits; she immediately called the police.
