LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC)-   USA Baseball announced their 16U National Team last night, and a Sam Houston High School junior is on their roster. After Evan Powell didn't make the team last year, he went back to work, doing everything he could to make sure he would be on this years squad . Right now the team is in Los Angeles, L. A., preparing to leave for Taiwan to compete, and we had the chance to speak with Evan about how good it feels to be making this trip.

"It was the best feeling in the world, especially because last year I tried out and didn't make it, so this year it was just that much better to make it. All the professional guys that we've talked to since they've been here that have made this, won world series rings and said that playing for USA and going over seas to play for USA is the best feeling they ever had, so I can't wait."

Evan and the team leave for Taiwan at 1:00 am tomorrow morning.
