LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - McNeese State softball head coach Natalie Poole had a fantastic first season for the Cowgirls.

She was named the Southland Conference coach of the year, and her team made a deep run in the Southland Conference tournament.

Now she hopes nine new players can help keep the momentum going in 2010.

MSU softball has announced their 2010 signees: two from Louisiana, six from Texas, and one from Mississippi.

The two players from Louisiana are from two of our local teams.  Alex Corbello went to Sam Houston High School and Kourtney Kober went to St. Louis Catholic.

Here's the list of the newest Cowgirls:

  • Kourtney Kober (SS), Lake Charles, LA
  • Alex Corbello (UT), Moss Bluff, LA
  • Jessica Wilson (C), Irving, TX*
  • Kayla Shepherd (P), Baytown, TX*
  • Kelsey McClain (P), Pasadena, TX*
