The City of Lake Charles is coming together to honor its heroes during the 12th annual Patriot's Ball. The ball will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 29 in the Contraband Room in the Lake Charles Civic Center. Lake Charles mayor Nic Hunter and the Armed Forces Coalition says they will be honoring local patriots to kick off the Red, White, Blue and You Festival. Louisiana has a new king of seafood. Ryan Trahan, of Blue Dog restaurant in Lafayette, received the title after winning the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off.   The competition happened Tuesday, June 19 In Lafayette. It included 12 chefs from across Louisiana, including Lake Charles' Justin East.
