"They shouldn't have done my sister like this"

Reported by Amanda Ward

It's an understandably emotional day for the family of LeConia Brown known to those who loved her as "Muggy."

Muggy's older sister tells KPLC LaConia actually feared for her life days before her disappearance.

"She knew her time had come," Kendra said.

Jennings Police Chief Johnny Lassiter says there are new developments in the case after the latest gruesome discovery that's becoming all too familiar to Jeff Davis Parish.

Brown is the fifth woman to be found dead in the rural area of Jennings.

Lassiter says they haven't determined a motive or a suspect at this time.

They are looking into the lifestyles of all five victims and the people they were associated with.

Lassiter said, "We're not closing any doors. We're keeping our options open."

"They've executed several search warrants and have questioned several people in the case but have not named any one a suspect or a person of interest," he said.

"We're following up several leads, we're narrowing down the field and hopefully soon narrow it down to one person," he added.

The deaths remain a mystery to the general public. Not much is being released about the extent of the injuries to the women or the exact cause of death.

LaConia Brown's older sister Kendra said, "They should not have done my sister this way."

She said they had to identify her little sister by her tattoos, and now they're forced to have a closed casket service.

Services are Monday, June 2 at Fondel Memorial Chapel in Jennings.

Visitation is from 8:00am-10am. The service starts at 10.
