Jennings Police Chief Johnny Lassiter has released the name of the woman whose body was found early Thursday morning.
She is Laconia S. Brown and is believed to be 23 years old.
A Jennings patrol officer found her body on Racca Road in south Jennings.
This morning on 7News Sunrise, Chief Lassiter said they believe they know where Ms. Brown was killed, however he didn't say how. He did confirm that they are treating it as a homicide and an autopsy will be performed.
The Jennings Police Department is handling the investigation with the assistance of the Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office, the Calcasieu Sheriff's Office, FBI and State Police. They're trying to determine if the newest victim is connected to the murder of five other women in Jeff Davis Parish.
